VIDEO: Tk’emlúps commemorates Indigenous Veterans Day – CFJC Today

KAMLOOPS — November 8 serves as Indigenous Veterans Day across Canada, commemorating more than 12,000 First Nations, Inuit and Metis people who served in conflicts throughout Canada’s history — including dozens of people from Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc.

Today, the band honoured those sacrifices in a community ceremony.

Tk’emlúps will also be hosting a Remembrance Day ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m on November 11, in the Pen Pen cemetery across from St. Joseph’s Church on Chilcotin Road.
