Whaler’s Washing House Returned to Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation – Woodward & Company LLP

Woodward and Co. LLP would like to congratulate the Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nation on the historic return of the Whaler’s Washing House to their Nation. This repatriation was 120 years in the making, ever since the sacred shrine was taken from their ancestral lands in 1905. A demand was met and justice was done. This is a significant accomplishment for the Mowachaht/Muchalaht, for Nuu-chah-nulth whaling culture and heritage, and for Indigenous peoples everywhere.
