The Western Development Museum (WDM) is celebrating a year marked by strong attendance, creative programming, and meaningful community partnerships, according to Operations Manager Karla Rasmussen.
“It was a wonderful year,” Rasmussen said. “Our volunteers, staff, and visitors really made a difference. It’s come through in our programs and visitation.”
One major factor in boosting attendance was the museum’s participation in the Canada Strong Pass program, a federal initiative that reduced admission costs for youth. Visitors aged 17 and under enjoyed free entry, while those aged 18 to 24 paid half price. “It really helped remove barriers and encouraged more people to check out the museum,” Rasmussen noted.
