If you catch a Sockeye, Coho, Chinook, Chum, or Pink salmon in the Nass River or in a tributary stream, please check to see if the fish is tagged, as follows:
Chinook: Silver aluminum tag on left gill plate (operculum)
Sockeye: Coloured ‘spaghetti’ tag under the dorsal fin (various colours)
Coho: Blue anchor tag under dorsal fin
Chum: Yellow or Orange aluminum tag on left gill plate
Pink: Pink anchor tag under the dorsal fin
Dolly Varden: Purple or Orange anchor tag under the dorsal fin

If your catch is tagged, please record the following tag information:
Please give the tag and tag information to your local catch monitor or to the Nisga’a Fisheries office from Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. For each tag returned, you will be entered into an annual prize draw consisting of seven $100 draws [3 Chinook; 3 Sockeye; 1 Coho/Pink]. Tag return deadline: Friday, November 8, 2024. Computerized Tag Draw Date: Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
