As Ontario’s colleges and universities explore new fields of Indigenous education, Angeni Lovelady’s own academic voyage started with a canoe trip through her campus.
In 2016, as part of Trent University’s debut group of Indigenous bachelor of education students, Lovelady paddled
up Peterborough’s Otonabee River in a voyageur-style canoe — accompanied by faculty members and Trent’s president.
