We are pleased to inform you that Chiefs of Ontario will be offering two training sessions on Incident Management for the Mental Wellness Teams and Community Wellness Development Teams.
We are inviting a maximum of 2 members from each of your teams, you may choose between the following dates/locations:
November 28-29, 2018 at the Holiday Inn Express, Thunder Bay, or
December 5- 6, 2018 at the Doubletree Hotel, Toronto.

Deadline for registration is 2 weeks prior to date of the workshop.
There is a limit of 24 participants per session. If interest exceeds these limits we will add another training date as soon as possible.
There is no fee for this training; accommodations and meals at the event will be covered. Travel will be reimbursed following the event as per the attached registration form.
These courses will follow the EMO curriculum and provide certification for those who complete the course. This course is designed for individuals potentially involved in implementing IMS at simple incidents or during the early phases of a complex incident. Participants will solidify their knowledge of core principles and concepts of Incident Management functions and organizations. This course will provide opportunities to learn how to command a simple incident and will receive an introduction to incident action plan. Participants will familiarize themselves with incident facilities, resource management and the management of communication.
In preparation for the Incident Management System (IMS) 200 Course, you will need to complete the prerequisite on-line IMS100. The IMS100 must be completed at least two weeks prior to the IMS200 Course Dates.
Attached is the Participant Instructions from Emergency Management Ontario that will guide you through the registration and answer any questions you may have.
Please note – there are two (2) parts to the IMS 100 e-learning course – (1) the learning modules and (2) the exam. In order for the IMS-100 e-learning course to be completed, you are required to complete both the e-learning modules and the exam online. To complete the e-learning module, please ensure that you have navigated through the entire course and allow the pages to fully load prior to closing the module.
The modules will open as a new window in your internet browser. To allow for this, the pop up blocker must be disabled. You can usually do this on your internet browser under Tools. If that does not work then you may wish to add the website to the compatibility view settings under tools.
Please go ahead and begin your registration for IMS100 by clicking on the link below, following the instructions to create a profile in the Provincial database, and then to complete the IMS100 course. CREATE A PROFILE:
– Access the emergency management learning portal at http://training.emergencymanagementontario.ca/TPOnline/TPOnline.dll/EMO_New_Student
– Select Create a Profile
– Complete the required fields i.e. your name, organization, contact details.
– Select Submit
– You will be sent a link via email to reset your password. (If you do not see the email in your Inbox, please check your bulk/spam/junk mail folder).
– Create a password that meets the following criteria:
• Must be at least 8 characters in length
• Must contain at least 1 numeric character
• Must contain at least 1 upper and 1 lower case character
LOGGING IN TO AN EXISTING PROFILE:
iii. Contact your service provider to ensure the email is not being blocked

Once you have created your User Profile, please go the Course Catalogue and select the IMS100 Course. Once you select the Course, below is the screen you will see.

IMS 100 – Introduction to Incident Management System
Description
This introductory course will prepare you to work within the Incident Management System in Ontario. This course is designed to teach you the basic functions, concepts and principles of the Incident Management System (IMS). At the end of this course you will be aware of the major functions within IMS, and be able to assume limited roles within an incident management team for simple incidents.
This course is currently available in two different formats
Self Study
This version of the course includes a downloadable reading package, supported by an online exam.
E-Learning
Our newest interactive version includes videos, quizzes, closed captioning and narration.

There are no pre-requisites required for this course.
