Press Release
Veteran Canadian Ranger Charlie Argnak from Kangiqsujuaq will be awarded the Order of Military Merit for his close to 50 years of active service in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves.
The announcement was made this week by Colonel Benoît Mainville during the Kativik Regional Government council meeting in Kuujjuaq. Mr. Argnak, 67, is a member of the KRG executive.
Colonel Mainville underlined Mr. Argnak’s leadership and dedication to the Canadian Rangers as well as his personal and social involvement in his community. His experience over the years in the self-sufficient mobile forces working in some of the most isolated and remote terrain in the country has made him a mentor and a highly respected member of his unit.
Mr. Argnak will receive the prestigious award at the hands of the Governor-General of Canada during a special ceremony in Ottawa at a yet undetermined date.
