Celebrate Earth Hour by being energy wise!

Press Release

March 19, 2025

The Government of Nunavut invites all Nunavummiut to participate in Earth Hour on Saturday, March 22, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Earth Hour is a global movement that encourages Nunavummiut to turn off non-essential lights for one hour as a symbolic act of our commitment to care for the land and our planet.

In the spirit of Avatittinnik Kamatsiarniq, let’s embrace our culture while saving energy. During the week leading up to Earth Hour, March 17 to 22, join the Department of Environment and participate in our Nunavut-wide planned activities.

Visit the Department of Environment’s website for a list of activities and an opportunity to win prizes in the spirit of Earth Hour.

Remember, every small action makes a difference! Let’s reduce energy use and protect our land and planet.

Follow Government of Nunavut’s social media accounts and visit the Department of Environment’s website to stay connected during Earth Hour!
