Are you interested in upholding human rights grounded in Inuit cultural values and applying your experience resolving disputes or complaints to make fair decisions? The Nunavut Human Rights Tribunal is seeking one new member and invites eligible Nunavummiut to apply.
Applicants should be individuals who are respected members of the community and have experience in dealing with social issues and have oral and written fluency in any of Nunavut’s official languages.
The tribunal evaluates and makes decisions on human rights cases it receives. Members are appointed by the Executive Council of the Government of Nunavut for a four-year term. Training is provided.
Members are expected to be available for at least 10 hours per month to attend meetings, hearings, and mediations as needed. Honoraria are provided, and necessary travel costs are covered.
