FORT McKAY, Alta. — A local First Nations school in Fort McKay has received a North American award recognizing its work supporting students with complex needs.
Elsie Fabian School was presented with the High Flying School Award at the National Youth Advocacy and Resilience Conference, an honour given to a select group of schools demonstrating leadership, innovation and measurable success in helping youth facing significant challenges.
Education director Miranda Beaton said the recognition reflects the progress made at the school and the commitment of staff and leadership to student-centred programming.
