David Meeches has been re-elected as chief of Long Plain First Nation, according to unofficial results released following the community vote.

Meeches received 555 votes in the chief’s race, ahead of Amanda Myran with 289, Melvin Longclaws with 54, and Janet Longclaws with 52.

Four candidates have been elected to council, led by Garnet Meeches with 414 votes, followed by Randy Merrick with 405 and Marvin Daniels with 346. Kerry Norris-Woods secured the fourth council seat.
