Statement from Premier Dixon on the swearing in of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun’s new Chief

Premier Currie Dixon has issued the following statement:

“On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I would like to congratulate Franklin A. Patterson on being sworn in as Chief of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun.

“I would also like to extend my congratulations to Councillors Kyle Mervyn, Melody Hutton and Florence Pilon and Youth Councillor Sommer Mervyn who were also sworn in at the First Nation’s general meeting this past weekend.

“The Government of Yukon looks forward to working with Chief Patterson and the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun’s Council on shared priorities.

“I would also like to express my gratitude to former Chief Dawna Hope for her leadership and service during her term in office. On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I wish her all the best in her future endeavours.”
