National Victims and Survivors of Crime Week

Press Release

May 11, 2026

May 10 to May 16, 2026, is National Victims and Survivors of Crime Week. The week aims to raise awareness about the issues facing victims of crime, and to share the laws and services in place to help victims and their families.

Nunavut victim services provides free, confidential, client-centered support for victims and survivors of crime throughout the territory. Victims and survivors of crime can access counselling by referral from victim services. Support is also available for Court of Justice processes, such as preparing victim impact statements, and resources are available for families affected by Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of crime, please call 1-866-456-5216 or email victimservices@gov.nu.ca, or visit the victim services webpage to learn more about the supports available.
