Keynote Speaker
We are honoured to welcome Dr. Niigaanwewidam Sinclair as our keynote speaker, livestreamed from the Opening Plenary.
Dr. Sinclair is Anishinaabe from Peguis First Nation and a proud Treaty One member. He is an award-winning writer, editor, and activist, named one of Canada’s Most Influential People.
Through his work, Niigan brings bold insight and deep care to the stories that shape this country, drawing on Indigenous knowledge, lived experience, and a deep commitment to truth-telling. He speaks from the heart about fatherhood, healing, and the responsibility we carry for one another, offering a powerful reminder of the role storytelling plays in helping us understand the world and our place within it.
His work challenges the ongoing impacts of colonialism while lifting up the strength of Indigenous communities – inviting all of us to reflect, to unlearn, and to walk forward together in a better way.
