‘I would stress that young people stay with Inuktitut as long as they can,’ she said
Sarah Leonardis, a jack-of-all trades and champion of the Inuktitut language, is retiring from CBC North after more than 25 years.
She has taken on a variety of roles at CBC over the years, including as a researcher, interpreter and backfill host, based in Yellowknife, and she’s a familiar face especially for Igalaaq viewers.
Throughout it all, Leonardis held onto one core value – the need to preserve Inuit language.
