Media Advisory: Pride Month Flag Raising Ceremony to Be Held at Confederation Building

The Honourable Lela Evans, Minister of Women and Gender Equality, will host a flag-raising event to mark the beginning of Pride Month in Newfoundland and Labrador. The event will take place on Monday, June 1, at 10:00 a.m. in the main lobby of East Block, Confederation Building.

The event will include performances by the Spectrum Queer Choir.

Parking will be available in front of the East Block, and attendees are asked to enter via the main entrance facing Prince Philip Drive. Those requiring an accessible entrance may use the blue zone parking behind East Block and enter through the public gallery entrance.

Pride Month is an annual celebration of the many contributions made by the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community to history, society, and cultures worldwide. It also promotes equality, honours diversity and fosters self-identity over shame.
