Vital People: The centre used Victoria Foundation funding to help Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities build cross-cultural relationships.
The Victoria Native Friendship Centre has used a pair of $30,000 grants from the Victoria Foundation to help Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities connect and build cross-cultural relationships.
Another grant of $10,000 supports a training program — developed by local First Nations — to provide non-Indigenous individuals who work with them through the government and agencies like Island Health with greater knowledge of Indigenous people.
