The International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change (IIPFCC) will host an Indigenous day of Action within the Blue Zone at COP30 in Brazil on November 18, 2025 to affirm “We have the solutions to the climate crisis. Our territories are among the best conserved on Earth.”
WHO: International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change
WHAT: Day of Action for Indigenous Peoples Rights
WHEN: November 18, 2025 | 12:00 (noon)
WHERE: UNFCCC COP30 Blue Zone, Outside Plenaries
Where Indigenous Peoples’ rights are respected, there is less deforestation, more biodiversity, and greater ecological resilience. We are not asking for charity; we ask for the authority to offer our governance, ancestral knowledge, and life-sustaining practices. What is missing is coherence in decisions, direct access to finance, and recognition of Indigenous-led solutions, all grounded in the rights affirmed in the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (‘UN Declaration’)
About IIPFCC: The International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change (IIPFCC) was established in 2008, as the caucus for Indigenous peoples participating in the UNFCCC processes. The IIPFCC represents the caucus members who attend the official UNFCCC COPs and intersessions of the SBSTA/SBI bodies in between COPs. Its mandate is to come into agreement specifically on what IPs will be negotiating for in specific UNFCCC processes.
