Report also found that the number of homeless in the city continues to increase
According to the city’s latest figures, more than 1,000 people in Greater Sudbury experienced some form of homelessness in 2025.
At next week’s meeting of the community and emergency services committee, staff will share an update on the city’s homelessness data.
The city reports that last year, “1,084 individuals experienced homelessness in the City of Greater Sudbury. This included 595 individuals who experienced chronic homelessness (55 per cent); 472 individuals who were newly experiencing homelessness; 163 individuals who experienced homelessness in the year and were housed; and 86 individuals who returned to homelessness after being housed.”
