Annual Meeting Notice and Call for Nominations

Call for Nominations for AFOA Canada Board of Directors

AFOA Canada is seeking to fill one (1) board position at the upcoming Annual Meeting of Members on March 6, 2024.   This position has been vacant for more than a year.   To support youth development, the AFOA Canada Board of Directors would like to nominate and elect one youth to the Board of Directors for a two-year term at the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Members.

In early 2023, AFOA Canada sent out a call for an Indigenous youth to fill an advisory role.   The criteria for this advisory role is for the person to be between the ages of 18 and 28 and at least in their final year of University or College.  The person would like to learn more about governance and contribute to the achievement of AFOA Canada’s mission and vision.  The youth selected to this advisory role was Alicia Carter (see biography.)

Below is additional information on the time and commitment involved to serve on the Board:

  • 3 Board meetings are held throughout the year (meetings are one-day in duration and travel will be covered by AFOA Canada)
  • 2 to 3 teleconference meetings are scheduled (usually 1 to 2 hours in duration)
