If you have a passion for creating safe spaces; want to encourage physical, mental, and emotional wellness; and support Indigenous communities to be physically active, then we encourage you to apply for our FitNation Winter Leader Training!
This Winter, I·SPARC will welcome 12 new FitNation leaders to participate in 3-days of experiential learning, providing the skills and resources to design and deliver an 8-week FitNation program in their own communities. Selected leaders will learn exercise techniques from master facilitators, including how to create workout lesson plans for participants of all ages and abilities – from youth to Elders!

The FitNation Leader Training Agenda includes:
- Instruction in over 100 exercises and modifications, adaptable for introductory, intermediate, and advanced fitness levels
- Modifications for participants to use the wall or a chair
- Brand new teachings for wheelchair exercises
- Disability Inclusion teachings, Mental Wellness, and much more!
All trained leaders are required to deliver an 8-week FitNation program for their community between January – June 2024 as part of their official completion.
FitNation programs continue to be successful in multiple community settings:
- K-12 Classrooms
- Post-Secondary Gathering Places
- Friendship Centres
- Recreation Centres
- Elders Groups
- Addictions & Healing Spaces
- Meeting Rooms, Hallways, and Anywhere Outdoors

- $500 grant to support your community FitNation program
- Opportunities to lead FitNation sessions at conferences, health fairs and other special events
- Continued training and education opportunities (i.e., BCRPA continuing education credits, fitness and health-related webinars, mentorship opportunities, FitNation 2.0)
