At least 3 people homeless as fire rips through Woodstock First Nation duplex – CBC

At least three people are homeless after a fire broke out at a duplex on Woodstock First Nation, early Monday morning.

The fire broke out shortly before 3:30 a.m. and destroyed the building located along Eagles Nest Drive.

Woodstock Fire Chief Ricky Nicholson said 12 firefighters were able to get the fire under control around 5:30 a.m.

Firefighters are still on scene, he said.

Nicholson said there were no injuries involved in the early morning fire but will be contacting the Canadian Red Cross to help residents that have been displaced.
