Avenue R: New opportunities for newcomers – StarPhoenix

Adjusting to life in Saskatoon has not been difficult for Marvin Ankrah, who spent 12 years in Germany before moving to Canada.

Saskatoon was his city of choice, primarily because friends from his native Ghana live here. Ankrah took a job at the University of Saskatchewan teaching the Governance and Development in the Global South course in the department of political studies.

Soon after his arrival, he joined the mentorship program at the Saskatchewan Intercultural Centre on Avenue R. The program brings people from different backgrounds together, he says.
