Conference organizer says he wants to promote successful collaborations between nations, companies
The Indigenous Resource Opportunities Conference is taking place in Nanaimo, B.C., this week, celebrating its 10th year against the backdrop of major political discussions on Indigenous rights in the province.
Conference organizer Dallas Smith, president of the Nanwakolas Council representing six First Nations on northern Vancouver Island, said the goal of the event is to showcase the potential of Indigenous partnerships.
