BATC project to build tiny homes for First Nations was a ‘one-time hit’ – SaskToday.ca

The BATC Employment Training Centre had funding for a pilot project to develop three tiny homes.

BATTLEFORDS – A Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs (BATC) training project helped build tiny homes for a number of Battlefords area First Nations.

“The BATC Employment Training Centre had funding to have a pilot project to develop tiny homes, tiny cabins,” said Merv Night, the BATC Director of Housing Infrastructure and project manager on the project. “It was a one-time project that was established by the Employment Training Centre.”

“The outcome was successful for supporting alternative housing for communities as well as to support in trying to reach the shortage of housing needs in their communities,” he added.
