BCAAFC announces 2016-2017 programming call under the Urban Aboriginal Strategy

Press Release

April 21, 2016

Victoria, BC – The Government of Canada, in recognizing the crucial role played by urban Aboriginal organizations across the country, finalized program and funding agreements with the National Association of Friendship Centres under the Urban Aboriginal Strategy (UAS).

The BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres is pleased to announce a request for Letters of Intent for the BC and Yukon regions, for the Community Capacity Support (CCS) Program, as a central program of the UAS.

The goal of CCS is to provide an operational allocation to Friendship Centres, and other incorporated urban Aboriginal not-for-profit service delivery organizations, so they may have a stable base of funding from which to deliver programs and services.  The program also focuses on the attraction of additional investments from other funders, all with the goal of removing barriers and increasing participation in the economy of the urban Aboriginal population.

Detailed information about the programming calls including deadlines can be found here.
