Call for applications – Territorial board of revision members

The Department of Community Services is seeking a chairperson and members for the territorial board of revision. The board hears complaints in accordance with the Property Assessment and Taxation Act.

The territorial board of revision is a quasi-judicial body that hears and resolves first-level appeals from property owners regarding property tax assessments and classifications. The board ensures that property assessments are fair and accurate across Nunavut. Its jurisdiction includes all lands in Nunavut, including the 24 hamlets and mine sites, except the City of Iqaluit, which has its own municipal board of revision.

The chairperson is appointed in accordance with subsection 33(3) of the Property Assessment and Taxation Act, and members of the board are appointed under subsection 33(2) of the Act.

Appointments are for a one-year term and may be renewed.

Individuals interested in serving on the territorial board of revision are invited to submit a resume to the planning and lands division at: CS@gov.nu.ca.

The deadline to apply is May 13, 2026.
