Iqaluit, Nunavut – May 9, 2025- The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is seeking expressions of interest from Inuit who want to serve a four-year term as members of their local Community Lands and Resources Committee (CLARC).
CLARCs are part of QIA’s community-based decision-making structure and are active in each Qikiqtani community. They support the delivery of programs funded under QIA’s Revenue Allocation Policy, including the new Community Resources and Opportunities benefit, and provide local guidance on lands, conservation, and stewardship matters. Each CLARC is led by the QIA Community Director, with members appointed from the Hamlet and Hunters and Trappers Organization, together with community members representing Elders, Youth, Women and Inuit in general.

Training and orientation will be provided by the QIA. In addition, CLARC members will receive an honorarium for meeting participation. The rate of pay for each CLARC member is the same and is as follows:
Partial day – $250.00 Full day – $550.00
