Call for proposals: Licensed Child Care Centre Infrastructure Funding Program

The Department of Education’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Division is reminding Nunavummiut to submit funding proposals to increase the availability of licensed child care in Nunavut for children up to 6 years of age.
The Department of Education has over $5.68 million in federal funding to be administered for early learning and child care infrastructure this year. ELCC is accepting proposal submissions on a first-come, first-served basis up to March 31, 2025. Priority will be given to underserved communities with limited or no existing licensed child care centres.
This funding can be used to help:
- Start the process of creating new licensed child care centres.
- Renovate existing centres to increase available spaces.
- Support projects that are already in-progress.
Who can apply:
- Licensed child care centres.
- Individuals interested in opening a licensed family home daycare.
- District education authorities and Commission scolaire francophone du Nunavut.
- Hamlets/municipalities.
- Non-profits and non-governmental organizations.
The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025.
