Candace Shabogesic Recognized for Sharing the Language with our Youth

Nbisiing Secondary School recently hosted its annual powwow, where Candace Shabogesic was recognized for her ongoing work and dedication to the community. A teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows (OLS), she brought her class to take part, giving students the opportunity to experience and engage in the gathering. During the powwow, student Starlotte Stevens shared a tribute, highlighting Candace’s continued efforts in teaching and sharing the language with youth. She was also presented with a Migizi Miigwan (Eagle Feather) in recognition of her hard work. Candace remains committed to supporting Nipissing students, making a clear and lasting impact.
