Celebration of Allyship and Treaties

All members of the Mississaugua of the Credit First Nation are invited to join the first annual Celebration of Allyship and Treaties, a community to community celebration of arts, culture and cuisine.

As a thank-you to Treaty Holders, members of the Oakville community will be bringing a celebration to MCFN on Saturday, March 4th 2023, from 5 to 9 pm at the MCFN Community Centre.

This event will feature Juno Award winning singer-songwriter Susan Aglukark, with special performances by Caribbean Steel Pan Drummers, Parang Singers and Hip-Hop Dancers. Food will be provided by Mohawk chef, Tawnya Brant of Top Chef Canada.

This is a free event to come and meet your Oakville treaty partners, and is an opportunity for members of the Oakville community to thank and acknowledge our partnership.

The event is open to all people living or working on the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. An attendee list from Oakville will be provided ata later date.

Debwewin: The Oakville Truth Project, a collaboration between the Oakville Community Foundation and MCFN, is proud to present this integrated community celebration in recognition of Treaty Day and the signing of Treaty 22 in Oakville.
