A village councillor in Chase is refusing to apologize after two neighbouring First Nations raised concerns about his comments on Truth and Reconciliation.
Chase council on Tuesday discussed letters it received from Skwlāx te Secwepemcúl’ecw and the Adams Lake Indian Band, each expressing concerns about comments made by Coun. Colin Connett at the Feb. 10 village council meeting.
At that meeting, Connett said he was “absolutely against” the village’s plans to host a Truth and Reconciliation Day event, saying things like that cost taxpayers too much money.
