Edmonton — The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is pleased to announce that the Citizens’ Council has appointed Roxanne Carriere as Chief Electoral Officer, pursuant to the Otipemisiwak Métis Government Elections and Referenda Act.
“On behalf of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, I am delighted to welcome Roxanne Carriere to her new role as Chief Electoral Officer,” said President Andrea Sandmaier. “Her experience and leadership will be an asset to our government, and the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer”
Chief Carriere is an experienced municipal leader with more than 12 years of service in local government, specializing in information governance, records management, and transparency initiatives. Throughout her career, she has played key roles in developing and advancing policies that strengthen accountability, improve data integrity, and enhance public access to information. Her professional expertise has supported organizations in navigating the evolving challenges of information management within an increasingly complex digital landscape. Known for her collaborative approach and strong commitment to ethical governance, Chief Carriere continues to champion practices that foster trust, efficiency, and responsible stewardship within the public sector.
“I am honoured to step into the role of Chief Electoral Officer and to serve the Nation in this capacity,” said Chief Carriere. “I am committed to supporting an election process that is transparent, accessible, and grounded in fairness to uphold the democratic values of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.”
