The 10-hectare fire is not under control

MATTAGAMI FIRST NATION — People on Highway 144 north of The Watershed may notice smoke from a nearby fire.

The 350-hectare fire, called Timmins 9, is 8.8 kilometres west of Highway 144 and 1.4 kilometres east of Bell Lake, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources. The area is north of Highway 560, which is where The Watershed is, near Mattagami First Nation.
