Dream coming alive – The Chronicle Journal

Frances Wesley has experienced the dream of hundreds of hand-drummers walking together for several years.

This Mother’s Day that dream will come to life as the first Walk for Healing, set for May 8, aims to bring together about 500 hand-drummers to promote community healing.

Every time Wesley hears about tragic deaths of First Nation youth, she would have the dream.

“In fact in one of my dreams, I could see mostly women walking in unison playing the hand drum because the hand drum is used as a healing tool for us,” she said. “I thought about it more and I said I’ve got to make this happen.”
