Educators Invited to Explore Métis Ways of Knowing Through Play with Sarah Spethmann

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, educators from across the province will have the opportunity to take part in An Evening With… Sarah Spethmann, a virtual session beginning at 6:30 p.m. EST. The event will immerse participants in Métis ways of knowing, centred around the joyful and meaningful practice of play.

Sarah will guide attendees through accessible and respectful approaches to incorporating Métis perspectives into early learning environments. Using stories, music, movement, and traditional and contemporary games, she will demonstrate how Métis play can nurture young children’s sense of appreciation, belonging, and curiosity.
The session is grounded in community and joy, inviting participants of all backgrounds to experience Métis ways of knowing as vibrant, evolving, and fully accessible.
