The Honourable Dr. Scott Reid, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, has announced the following relative to Environmental Assessment – Part 10 – of the Environmental Protection Act.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT REQUIRED AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE APPOINTED:

Toqlukuti’k Avalon Isthmus Green Energy Project                          (Reg. 2368)
Proponent: Toqlukuti’k Wind and Hydrogen Ltd.

The Minister has advised the Proponent that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required for the Project. Additional information is needed to inform the Minister.

An Environmental Assessment Committee has been appointed to provide scientific and technical advice to the Minister and to draft guidelines for the Proponent in preparing the EIS. PLANS ACCEPTED:

Howse Property Direct Shipping Ore Mine                                         (Reg. 1751)
Proponent: Howse Minerals Limited

On September 10, 2025, the Minister advised the proponent that the Benefits Plan and Gender, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Plan for the project are accepted. These plans were required as conditions of release from environmental assessment. The Minister also advised that the condition to submit an updated Environmental Preview Report document has been met.
