POSITION: Executive Director
Centre Walgwan Center
The Centre Walgwan Center is a bilingual co-ed culturally based addictions treatment center for First Nations / Inuit youth suffering from substance misuse between the ages of 12 to 17 years of age.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Academic, technical and professional competence:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Addiction, Psychology, or Education.
- Certification in Youth Intervention is highly desirable, as is an accredited program in Social Services, or Criminology.
- A certificate in Business Administration or Human Resources Management is an asset.
- A minimum of 3 – 5 years of demonstrated skills in….
- Leading and managing a treatment or intervention centre or program, preferably involving Aboriginal Youth, or some similar program.
- Experience should include policy design and implementation. Capacity to create a constructive, productive, fair and fun work environment.
- Must be bilingual and possess effective communications skills, including active listening. Experience in an Aboriginal organization is a definite asset.
- Administering a facility, including the ability to develop, propose and manage budgets; oversee leasing arrangements, leasehold improvements and building maintenance; ensure the organization has and maintains quality equipment.
