Steven Beatty was always smiling, loved ones say; Trent Thomas John Bird arrested on manslaughter charge

Steven Beatty’s family is at a loss to explain how a young man remembered as sweet, helpful and always smiling ended up the victim of a homicide in northern Saskatchewan.

“I’m so dumbfounded from it,” said Beatty’s cousin Kimberley Beatty.

“He was not the kind of person to be in that type of setting, to have any type of grief between people, you know what I mean?”
