First Call 2017 Provincial Budget Submission: Time to Meet Our Responsibilities to BC’s Children and Youth

Mid October 2016, First Call made a written submission to the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services regarding the 2017 provincial budget.
We outline how the government is not meeting our responsibilities to our children and youth, citing high child poverty rates, inadequate supports for youth in and from care and lack of child care spaces, among others.
We then provide specific recommendations regarding poverty reduction, early childhood investments, services for vulnerable children and youth, and public and post-secondary education.
