FNEC June 2026 Newsletter

On April 21 and 22, 2026, the Chiefs and representatives of FNEC member communities convened a Special General Assembly to provide the FNEC with key mandates for the renewal of the Regional Education Agreement (REA), which is set to expire in 2027. Three resolutions were adopted at this time:

R26-01: A mandate to submit a proposal to renew the REA for an additional 10 years, in order to ensure the sustainability of the Agreement’s significant outcomes, better align it with educational cycles (primary and secondary education) and support long-term planning.
