How Reilly Geroux-Dunne found her path in law and the community she hopes to uplift

Reilly Geroux-Dunne remembers the moment she first said she wanted to be a lawyer. She was young, sitting in a classroom in Barrie, Ontario, when the teacher asked everyone what they hoped to become. Reilly said she wanted to practise law. The teacher responded by telling her she was not smart enough.

She decided that day that she would prove them wrong.

What began as a spark of determination eventually grew into a calling. Reilly stayed committed through high school, university, and later into law school, discovering that she loved the complexity and creativity of the profession. She was drawn to the idea that the same set of facts can be understood in many different ways, and that there is space for strategy, nuance, and imagination in legal reasoning. Over time, that early curiosity deepened into something rooted in identity, community, and purpose.
