Lax Kw’alaams members living in Northern Regions including Lax Kw’alaams, Prince Rupert and Terrace. Please be advised of frozen pipe preparations.

As temperatures drop, please take the following precautions this winter to protect your home and belongings, prevent costly repairs, and ensure continuous access to safe drinking water.

Tips:

Run cold water faucets at a slow drip (1-2 drops per second)
Focus on faucets farthest from the water heater
Consider opening cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air circulation
Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses
Above all, it’s important to keep the water flowing from the faucets.
