Press Release
January 9, 2026
The Government of Yukon has taken the next step in developing the new Chasàn Tatäy neighbourhood and awarded a contract to build a new lift station to local contractor Norcope Enterprises Ltd.
The lift station is a critical piece of infrastructure required for the land development process. Once in place, it will connect the lots to the City of Whitehorse’s wastewater system.
The Government of Yukon is working in partnership with Kwanlin Dün First Nation on the development of Chasàn Tatäy.
Once complete, the neighbourhood, formerly known as Range Point, will support more than 380 new residential units through a mix of housing types. The neighbourhood will also feature a central park area, with internal walking and biking paths and access to green spaces.
Kwanlin Dün First Nation is proud to be working with intergovernmental partners to create much-needed housing for our Citizens and all city residents. Each step forward on this project helps bring our community’s Land Vision to fruition. We look forward to seeing Chasàn Tatäy come to life.
Kwanlin Dün First Nation Chief Sean Uyenets’echᶖa Smith
Our government is excited to advance initiatives that create more housing across the Yukon. The unique partnership with Kwanlin Dün First Nation has been crucial in helping the Government of Yukon meet the demand for new lots for our growing population. I look forward to further collaboration as the Chasàn Tatäy project advances.
