Ietsénhaienhs Morrison attending Forum on First Nations Language Rights

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Ietsénhaienhs Melanie Morrison is representing the community at the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador’s (AFNQL) Forum on First Nations Language Rights in Saint-Sauveur, Quebec.

The Forum takes place over two days (Wednesday & Thursday), covering the following topics: Language, healing and reconciliation; Women’s leadership; The inseparable link between Indigenous languages and territories; funding for language programs; education; rights; and a look at French as a ‘common language’ in Quebec.

Ietsénhaienhs Morrison is expected to return to the office on Friday, September 6th.
