Important Drug Seizure in Salluit

Kuujjuaq, Québec, March 23, 2016 – Public-police collaboration in Salluit enabled the Kativik Regional Police Force (KRPF) to conduct two important seizures of hashish oil in that community last week.

On March 14, 2016, 98 vials of hashish oil were seized from an individual arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking. The following day, the KRPF proceeded with the arrest of a second suspect for trafficking of a substance and obtained a tele-warrant that led to the seizure of an additional 990 vials of hashish contained in ten separate plastic containers. Both individuals have been released from custody on a promise to appear and undertaking.

The value of the KRPF seizures is approximately $108,800. The street value of hashish oil is estimated to be $100 per vial.
