Indigenous art exhibit Atim Maskikhiy opens at Southeast College – DiscoverWeyburn

Mar 05 2026

The Indigenous art exhibition Atim Maskikhiy is currently on display at the Southeast College campus in Weyburn.

Indigenous Initiatives Coordinator at Southeast College, Stacey Mustatia, says the exhibit features artwork by 17 artists working in a variety of mediums. The title Atim Maskikhiy translates to “dog medicine” in Cree, as the exhibit explores the relationship between humans and dogs.

“Anybody that loves dogs or animals of any kind would probably appreciate the exhibit. Even if you don’t, it will expand your awareness of what is going on in our northern communities with the dogs and the people that live there because dogs are integral to their way of life and a big part of their culture.”
