Indigenous community health workers play a critical role in rural and remote Indigenous communities, where healthcare access is limited and health inequities are more pronounced, yet they face numerous barriers.

Do funding models lead to uneven access to training across rural and remote Indigenous communities in Canada? How does training address the lived experiences of Indigenous community members? How can community-based training models reduce financial barriers, support retention of Indigenous community health workers in remote communities, and provide these workers with the skills they need?
