Hundreds of Indigenous leaders from across Canada are expected to participate in the three-day event
Cochrane and TTN (Taykwa Tagamou Nation) will host the National Treaties 1 – 11 Conference and Cree Fest 2017. Hundreds of Indigenous leaders from across the country will congregate in Cochrane starting Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017 through to Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017.
Both the provincial and federal Minister’s of Indigenous Affairs (David Zimmer and Carolyn Bennett respectively), will attend the conference along with notable leaders like: Perry Bellgarde, National Chief; Eric Tootootsis, National Treaties Spokesperson; Member of Parliament, Romeo Saganash; Alvin Fiddler, Nishnabe Aski Nation Grand Chief, and Jonathan Solomon, Mushkegowuk Council Grand Chief. An invitation has also been sent to Prime Minister Trudeau.
