‘Our students start off knowing nothing. By the time they’re done, they can walk into places like (Kyndryl) and hopefully get good jobs as security analysts,’ says team leader
Kyndryl Canada, one of the world’s largest information technology (IT) infrastructure services providers, which also operates a cyber-security hub here in Barrie, is helping Indigenous students gain ground in the industry.
The firm is hosting a group of Indigenous students at its Security Operations Centre (SOC), located on Bayview Drive in the city’s south end, to support digital literacy, IT and cyber-security training through the Joint Economic Development Initiative (JEDI).
JEDI is a non-profit organization created to foster Indigenous economic development in New Brunswick, and the students are training at the facility here in Barrie.
